Taiwan independently declared 22 countries, including the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Canada, Switzerland, and 16 member states from the European Union, as organic equivalence countries. However, after the Organic Agriculture Promotion Act came into effect on May 30, 2019, only countries that sign an organic equivalence agreement with Taiwan can sell organic products to Taiwan without an additional certification process. Similarly, our domestic organic agricultural products can be directly exported to these equivalence countries for organic sales.
